About The Bungalow
The main house was originally built in the late 1970s within the enchanting kitchen-garden of the neighbouring Wenvoe Castle. It has been impeccably upgraded and enhanced by the current architect-owner, and now presents exceptional family accommodation in an idyllic and secluded setting. Not to mention the second property that sits along the main house and is ideal for an extended family or guest accommodation.

The main house is bathed in an abundance of natural light, thanks to the expansive floor-to-ceiling glazed windows and doors. The central living room is the heart of the home, with a striking pitched ceiling and a captivating contemporary wood burning stove. A series of impressive windows and doors overlook the south-facing paved patio, seamlessly connecting the indoors with the lush gardens beyond.

Adjacent to the living room is a study, providing a tranquil space to work or relax. Just beyond the lounge is a snug with its own cozy wood burner. This snug conveniently links to a second bedroom, where planning permission has been secured for a potential fourth bedroom or en suite extension.

The contemporary kitchen is fitted with a superb range of units and appliances, including a hob, double oven, fully integrated fridge, freezer, and dishwasher. An adjoining utility room offers additional storage and accommodates a washing machine, dryer, and American-style fridge/freezer.

The largest and most luxurious bedroom is located at the northern end of the residence. It is strategically positioned to capture both the refreshing morning light from the east and the warm afternoon/evening sunshine from the west. This generous double room boasts its own stylish en suite shower room, complete with an exceptionally spacious walk-in shower and accent-lit wardrobes.

The second bedroom, situated in the eastern wing of the property, boasts its own en suite bathroom, featuring a bath and separate shower cubicle. Furthermore, a third double bedroom offers a private shower cubicle and basin. All these bedrooms enjoy picturesque views of the serene and secluded garden in the north-eastern corner, with convenient access through their respective doors.

In summary, this exceptional property seamlessly blends modern style and comfort with the character and history of its surroundings. With its superb living spaces, light-filled rooms, and picturesque gardens, this is a truly remarkable family home offering a lifestyle of tranquillity and refinement.

Location
Wenvoe is a picturesque village situated in the Vale of Glamorgan, approximately 7 miles west of Cardiff. It is a small, tight-knit community with a population of just over 2,000 people, and it has a rich history dating back to the 12th century. The village is surrounded by stunning countryside, and it offers a range of local amenities, including a primary school, church, post office, pub, and village hall. It also boasts a golf club, which is situated on the site of the former Wenvoe Castle. The village is well-connected, with easy access to the M4 motorway and Cardiff International Airport, making it an attractive location for commuters. Wenvoe is within approximately 2 miles from Culverhouse Cross where an excellent road network on the western fringe of the City of Cardiff provides access to Junction 33 of the M4 Motorway ideal for commuting further afield. Culverhouse Cross includes a range of "national outlets" including Marks & Spencer, Tesco, Homebase and B & Q. Property History
The property was originally designed by Hird & Brooks, Architects from Penarth and when built in 1978 for the then owner, T R Watts, it was one of their few well known designs built with a stone facing. The property was not built to the original consented size, but was extended in 1983 to provide 180sq.m (1,937sq.ft) of accommodation with 3 bedrooms, a lounge, dining room, snug, kitchen/breakfast room and utility plus 45sqm. of external storage/garage.

Wenvoe Castle was a castle and country estate between Barry and Wenvoe, in the Vale of Glamorgan, South Wales. The principal building on the site was a vast mansion house created in 1776 to 1910 by Robert Adam.

The Wenvoe Castle Golf Club was established in 1936, by the owner of the manor, Hugh Jenner, and continues to be used as such. The remainder of the 1777 building, now Wenvoe Castle Golf Club, was listed at Grade II and represents the east and north wings or former Stable Block.
